Visit the Active Volcano on the Big Island

Everybody wants to see red hot lava! There isn't any right now on Maui ... our last eruption here was a little over 200 years ago. But the Big Island of Hawaii offers the safest volcano viewing in the world. Kilauea has been oozing lava non-stop for the last 25 years ... it typically flows downhill from the active vent toward the ocean through a series of tubes and surface flows.

Here is a link to a webpage that highlights the current eruptive activity, with photos of lava and maps showing the lava flows. This page is updated almost daily. Take a look at this site and then come back here and book your volcano adventure! http://wwwhvo.wr.usgs.gov/kilauea/update/

Spend the second day visiting Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, etc. Return flight departs Hilo on day two at 7:35pm, connects in Honolulu, and arrives back on Maui at 9:37pm This pacakge includes round trip airfare and a rental car for two days.

$515 per person Two day / One night with helicopter tour of volcano

Typical itinerary: Same as two day / one night package, but adds a 45-50 minute helicopter tour over the active volcano on the morning of day two. Direct flight departs Maui at 9am ... arrive in Hilo at 9:40am. Pick up rental car and drive to see the volcano. Cost of hotel is not included; accommodations are arranged on your own. Helicopter tour in the morning of day two; visit Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, etc. on your own. Return flight departs Hilo on day two at 7:35pm, connects in Honolulu, and arrives back on Maui at 9:37pm This pacakge includes round trip airfare and a rental car for two days. Because of a cruise ship that is in port in Hilo every Tuesday, we recommend that you avoid that day of the week as the cruise ship takes all available helicopter tour times

Reserve these packages well in advance of your arrival in Hawaii. These packages are not available as the interisland flights begin to fill up and the lesser expensive seats are sold out. From December 15 to January 4 these packages are not available due to the surge in local interisland travel over the holidays.

Packages which include airline reservations are non-cancellable and non-refundable.

I acknowledge that I have read the booking procedures and wish to submit my itinerary for processing.

Upon submitting your activity reservation for processing, we will make reservations for you and send an e-mail confirming all of the details. These confirmations are often sent a few minutes after your reservation, but some activities take longer to confirm than others. You will receive an e-mail confirmation by the end of the next business day at the latest. There are no tickets that you need to pick up prior to your event. Your e-mail confirmation will have all the details you need to check in and enjoy your selected activity. This saves you precious time when you come to Maui!

Please be sure that you have typed your email address perfectly; an incorrect address will prevent you from getting your confirmation details, and we will have no way of knowing that you never received your confirmation. We cannot be responsible for errors that clients make which causes them to miss their tour. If you do not see your email confirmation within 24 hours please call us right away to check on the status of your order.

A credit card is required to guarantee payment for your reservations, but in almost all cases your credit card is not immediately charged when your order is placed. Your credit card is typically charged five days before you leave for Hawaii, and a voucher is faxed to the vendor. (Some activities are charged at the time of check-in and your e-mail confirmation will inform you if this is the case). Any activities that will be charged at the time of order will be clearly marked "Payment is required at the time of reservation."

For activities charged by Adventuremaui.com five days before the start of your vacation, If you cancel your activity after your credit card has been charged you will receive a full credit to apply to another tour or activity during your vacation. If you don't use that credit before you leave the island, a refund of 90% will be processed on your credit card.

After making reservations, you may reschedule or cancel your activity up until 48 hours prior to its start (a few activities have 72 hour cancellation policies ... see your confirmation e-mail for details). Within 48 hours of the start of your activity all reservations are final and non-refundable (unless the event is cancelled by the vendor due to weather or other factors). Due to our incredible climate weather cancellations are rare, but in those cases you will receive a 100% refund. No-shows and cancellations without adequate notice are charged in full on the credit card used to secure the reservation and are non-refundable.
